On December 7, French champagne house Chateau d‘Avize, affiliated with Abrau-Durso Group of Companies, presented a new wine from its collection, same-name champagne Chateau d‘Avize Extra Brut, at Champagne Celebration: SPARKLES OF JOY festival held at the French Embassy.
This new champagne was produced following the principles of biodynamics in Avize commune, whose vineyards have a Grand Cru status. The presented millesime Chateau d‘Avize is made exclusively from Shardonnay grapes harvested in 2012 and grown at the champagne house’s vineyards only. Classic blanc de blancs extra brut of straw and golden colour has a fine aroma of ripe pear with tones of freshly baked pastry. The taste is round, balanced, with light mineral tones and fruit candy notes. It is an ideal aperitif, which will go well with fresh seafood and various dishes made with fish of noble varieties.
The new champagne was created by Hervé Jestin, Chief Oenologist of Chateau d‘Avize winery. Following his recommendation, wine was matured in bottles for more than four years.
Altogether 10,613 bottles were produced, with only 1,000 ones intended for sale in Russia.
Starting from mid-December this year, new champagne will be offered for sale exclusively at brand stores of Abrau-Durso Russian Wine House.
Additional information In 2010 Abrau-Durso Russian Wine House acquired the champagne house of Chateau d‘Avize (France). The winery has 2 ha of vineyards in Champagne province, and produces Foliage organic champagne as well.
