“O, da! Eda!” returns to Abrau-Durso

On September 9 and 10, enogastronomic festival “O, da! Eda!” (Oh Yes! Food!) will be held in Abrau-Durso Tourism Centre for the second time.

“O, da! Eda!” festival in Abrau-Durso is organized by Aurora and Abrau-Durso Russian Wine House with the support of the Administration of Krasnodarsky Krai.

Enogastronomic festival “O, da! Eda!” in Abrau-Durso is a major event, which will certainly increase tourist attractiveness of Krasnodarsky Krai and contribute to the development of specialized enogastronomic and rural tourism, which have every chance of becoming the leading types of tourism in the region.

In 2016, the first “O, da! Eda!” festival in Abrau-Durso was a great success. Over two days, it was attended by about 15,000 guests, which is by one-third more than was initially expected. The event programme included entertainment for the whole family: children‘s playgrounds and water activities, workouts, yoga and pilates classes, a cooking school for the smallest ones, as well as lectures and other educational and training activities. More than 3,500 burgers were eaten, more than thousand Black Sea oysters were tasted, more than a hundred kilos of Black Sea mussels were consumed, and almost 3,000 Kuban and Crimea wines were drunk and sold.

In 2017, festivals under “O, da! Eda!” brand are held in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, and Krasnoyarsk. Each festival gathers from 10,000 to 50,000 guests at its venues. The focus of the festivals is the promotion of local cuisine with the use of local products, as well as of modern culture, gastronomy, and a healthy lifestyle. As part of the festival, classes of the leading representatives of the hospitality industry and performances by music bands are organized, and conditions for family recreation in the open air are created, leading to increased interest in event-related and gastronomic tourism.

This year, the festival in Abrau-Durso will be dedicated to Black Sea cuisine. Representing a successful combination of Bulgarian, Greek, Georgian, Italian, Russian, and Tatar cuisines, the phenomenon of Black Sea cuisine has found numerous admirers all over the world. The task of participating restaurants is to show the connection between cooking traditions of various peoples living along the Black Sea coast in their signature dishes. 

“O, da! Eda!” will demonstrate the region‘s gastronomic panorama and represent 20 best restaurants of the Russia‘s South, while the festival‘s guests will have an opportunity to try their signature dishes. Leading chefs of Krasnodarsky Krai and of Moscow restaurants will act at the Gastronomic Theatre‘s stage as presenters of master classes. The festival will also feature an exhibition and tasting of Russian wines from leading manufacturers, cooking competitions between amateur teams, a market of local products, and music performances in the art square on the shore of a mountain lake. Business program of “O, da! Eda!” festival will include meetings of restaurant owners, chefs, sommeliers, representatives of wineries and suppliers of high-quality local products, aimed at developing cooperation between the representatives of the industry‘s related sectors.
