ABRAU-DURSO WINS 12 MEDALS AT IWSC 2021

The winners of International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC) 2021 were celebrated in London. Abrau-Durso wines won an impressive three silver and nine bronze medals.
This May, Russian Wine House Abrau-Durso won a number of awards at influential international tasting competitions. The annual International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC), where the Russian winery presented its best wines from various years, added three silver and nine bronze medals to the extensive collection of awards. Imperial Vintage Brut Magnum 2016 in a 1.5-liter bottle was awarded the highest score of 91 points by the panel of judges.
Another silver medal went to Cabernet Sauvignon Abrau-Durso 2017 of the premium collection of still wines, which was also awarded 91 points. It is an exquisite wine with a refined flavor of blackcurrants and ripe cherries, and a rich taste filled with subtle notes of spices in the aftertaste.
Tsimlyansky Black Brut 2017 of the Vedernikov Winery collection, a classic sparkling wine, won another silver medal. This wine, a creation of autochthonous Don grape varieties, scored an impressive 90 points.
Bronze medals were awarded to the sparkling wines of the Imperial collection: Rosé Brut 2015 and Brut d'Or Blanc de Blancs 2017, as well as three wines of the Victor Dravigny collection – Brut 2017, Extra Brut 2017, and Rosé Brut 2018. Still wines of the Abrau-Durso premium collection also won bronze medals: Abrau-Durso Pinot Noir 2018 and Abrau-Durso Pinot Noir 2019, as well as Sibirkovy Extra Brut 2017 and Sibirkovy / Tsimlyansky Black Extra Brut 2017 of the Vedernikov Winery collection of classic sparkling wines.
The first annual IWSC was originally held in London in 1969, when Club Oenologique was founded. The competition includes not only still and sparkling wines, but also spirits in other categories from more than 90 countries. An IWSC award is an internationally acknowledged quality standard. The panel comprises hundreds of world experts, including wine critics, manufacturers, sommeliers and distributors from 30 countries.
