The ABRAU-DURSO Museum Complex has received prestigious awards of the Corporate Museum 2023 national award

On September 14, the winners of the V All-Russian competition "Corporate Museum" were announced at a ceremony in Yekaterinburg. More than 75 museum projects of operating enterprises from all over Russia qualified for the final. The Museum and Historical Complex of the Abrau-Durso Russian Wine House won prizes in two nominations at once. The Laureate title, or first place, was awarded to "New Exhibition", and the III Degree Diploma - bronze - was received in the main nomination "Best Corporate Museum".

The main goal of the competition is to form and develop public interest in the industrial, scientific and educational potential of our country. The revival of the tradition of corporate museums is an important component of the program for the development of intercultural relations between industrial enterprises and society. Corporate museums have a cultural and educational mission, carefully preserving the traditions of the past for future generations.

The "Abrau-Durso. Pages of a new history" competition project won in the New Exposition category of the Corporate Museum national award and received the main prize - a golden statuette. The exhibition was created in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Abrau-Durso Russian Wine House in the period from 2020 to 2023. It reflects the most important periods - milestones in the development of the oldest winemaking enterprise, and its most important task is to tell in a modern visual language using advanced technologies not only about a place of unique beauty and power, but also about the famous Abrau-Durso wines and their unique history.

An important award for the Abrau-Durso Museum and Historical Complex was the receipt of a bronze award in the Best Corporate Museum nomination. This is the main nomination of the competition, designed to identify those museums that show leadership qualities in various areas of activity and serve the community of corporate museums as a guide for development in the near future.

The Abrau-Durso museum collection began to form in the days of the Russian Empire. During the Great Patriotic War, most of the exhibits were lost. The idea of its revival came on the eve of the 100th anniversary celebration, and in 1974 the museum received its first visitors. Today, the Abrau-Durso Museum and Tourist Complex is a rich synthesis of history, the latest exhibition technologies and unique production. Every year the exhibition is updated with new innovations, changing and becoming more and more attractive to tourists. And thanks to new technologies, augmented reality and unique art objects, excursions remain invariably fascinating and exciting both for those who visit the museum for the first time and for regular guests of the resort.

We added new exhibitions to the updated halls, including modern digital technologies, which help immerse visitors deeper into the excursion program. Thus, in the Imperial Hall, you can see spectacular lightboxes with fabric printing, thanks to which the viewer is immersed in the scene, and there is a holographic image of gifts from Emperor Nicholas II to the great French champagne specialist Victor Dravigny. Before entering the famous tunnels, all guests are greeted by an audiovisual image of Prince Golitsyn - his hologram. In the Grape Field Hall, there is a large-scale projection on the screen, which broadcasts online what is happening in the Abrau-Durso vineyards.

The usual exhibition has expanded and been supplemented by a project that involves another sense organ - smelling. In the new Aroma Room, visitors are immersed in the world of wine aromas, discovering new notes. In a dimly lit room, there are information stands and eight aromatic flasks, helping tourists get acquainted with the components of the wine aromas. No less interesting is the art object with an audiovisual exhibition demonstrating the Heart of Abrau - according to legend, it was discovered during the work in one of the underground tunnels of the winery. It is the one that nourishes the earth, plants and, most importantly, the vine, thanks to which Abrau-Durso wines have such a unique taste. The Heart itself is made in the form of a grape berry, whose beating fills the space with strength and life-giving cuvee, and helps winemakers create the best wines.

The All-Russian competition "Corporate Museum" is being held for the 5th time with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, TMK (Pipe Metallurgic Company), Ingosstrakh, the Russian Committee of the International Council of Museums (ICOM Russia), the Russian Association for Public Relations and other organizations.
